Copyright is a serious issue. If you write something, create something, you own the copyright.
If you own the copyright you have to keep an eye out for the unscrupulous people. Recently, I discovered several of my books were on a web site I had no idea how they got there. They were being offered for free.
I'm not a big name and I don't make a lot of money so paying for a lawyer to address this egregious infringement is going to set me back. Nineteen of my books have been pirated and offered for free on this site. I've sent a cease and desist letter as well as a request for compensation for the loss of funds due to the downloads (which were helpfully listed on the site). However, I have to call a lawyer to see where I stand on this and what my options are.
My advice to authors - regardless of being a beginner or advanced - Google yourself. Check out all the places you're stuff is listed and if you find places you didn't authorize to sell your stuff - look up a copyright infringement template online and send a letter.
This is not the first time I've had to do this. It probably won't be the last but it is so far the worst.
These two novels are still in the works. I'm waiting on the artist to finish the covers.
Mallory follows her magi gifts back to Linos Province where all the magi were persecuted and most killed. Her magi powers send her to help a boy. In saving the boy, she joins a small group who need her magi powers. The small group escapes from hostile villagers and magi hunters. Reaching Scons Province doesn’t offer safety only more challenges for Mallory, Leland, Pintra, Faolan, Jadan, Ovra, and Erga.
Half human, half Draconian, Dewi Bradon and Draconian Lord Lachlan Camdon are forced into being mates. They must overcome their own prejudices to expose the corruption and crime running rampant in the Draconian society. Their mating starts a magical but dangerous time for Dewi, Lachlan, their clans and their society.
These two stories came to me and wrote themselves in short order. I couldn't get them out fast enough. I've gone through the editing process and much of the prep but I'm waiting on the covers.

Exhaustion doesn't cover how I felt after the move for my daughter. It was a lot of driving, stress, and drama. However, she's in her apartment and working on getting settled.
If you're not being rejected, maybe you're not trying hard enough
